Abstract
The integration of biomedical engineering into hospital systems has paved the way for the development of smart hospitals, which utilize advanced technologies to enhance patient care, improve operational efficiency, and reduce healthcare costs. Biomedical engineers have played a pivotal role in designing and implementing innovative systems such as electronic health records (EHR), telemedicine, medical robotics, and IoT-based devices that enable real-time patient monitoring. This article explores the role of biomedical engineering in the development of smart hospital systems, focusing on the technological advancements that have revolutionized healthcare delivery and the potential for future innovations.
