Abstract

RNA plays a central role in gene expression and regulation, serving as a crucial intermediary between DNA and protein synthesis. The process of gene expression involves the transcription of DNA into RNA, followed by the translation of RNA into proteins. RNA molecules, including mRNA, rRNA, tRNA, and non-coding RNAs, are essential for the regulation of gene activity, influencing processes such as transcriptional control, splicing, and translation. This article explores the diverse roles of RNA in gene expression, focusing on the mechanisms of transcriptional regulation, RNA processing, and post-transcriptional regulation. It also discusses the emerging field of RNA-based therapies and the potential for targeting RNA in the treatment of genetic disorders and diseases
