Abstract
Obesity is a complex metabolic disorder that is influenced by genetic, environmental, and lifestyle factors. Emerging evidence suggests that the gut microbiota plays a significant role in the regulation of body weight and the development of obesity. This article explores the relationship between gut microbiota composition and obesity, focusing on how microbial communities influence energy balance, fat storage, and metabolic health. We discuss the mechanisms by which gut microbiota affects obesity, including their impact on the immune system, inflammation, and gut-brain communication. Additionally, the article reviews potential therapeutic approaches, such as probiotics, prebiotics, and dietary interventions, aimed at modulating gut microbiota for obesity prevention and treatment.
