Abstract
As the world transitions to a low-carbon future to mitigate the impacts of climate change, chemical engineering plays a pivotal role in reducing greenhouse gas emissions and advancing sustainable practices. This article discusses innovative chemical engineering solutions that contribute to a low-carbon economy, including carbon capture and storage (CCS), renewable energy production, energy efficiency improvements, and sustainable materials. The paper also explores emerging technologies, such as green hydrogen production, advanced catalysts, and bio-based feedstocks, that are shaping the future of chemical engineering and supporting the global effort to decarbonize industry and society.
