Abstract
The transition to carbon-free energy technologies is essential for mitigating climate change and ensuring a sustainable energy future. Chemical engineering plays a central role in developing and scaling up technologies that can replace fossil fuels with renewable and carbon-neutral alternatives. This article explores the contributions of chemical engineering in the development of carbon-free energy technologies, including renewable energy generation, energy storage, and carbon capture and utilization. The paper also highlights the challenges and future opportunities for chemical engineers to drive the adoption of carbon-free energy technologies in the global energy landscape.
