Abstract
The growing environmental concerns regarding the production and disposal of traditional petroleum-based polymers have spurred the development of eco-friendly polymers. Chemical engineering has played a crucial role in advancing the production of these sustainable polymers by developing new materials, optimizing production processes, and reducing environmental impacts. This article explores the contributions of chemical engineering to the development of eco-friendly polymers, including biodegradable polymers, bio-based polymers, and recycling technologies. It also discusses the challenges and future directions for the chemical engineering field in promoting the use of sustainable polymers in various industries.
