Abstract

As a green and efficient means of environmental governance, photocatalytic technology has shown important application potential in the field of organic pollutant degradation. This article reviews the latest progress of photocatalysts in the degradation of organic pollutants, covering the characteristics and development of traditional photocatalysts (such as TiO2), new photocatalysts (such as g-C3N4, MOFs) and their modification strategies. The article explains the mechanism of photocatalytic reaction, analyzes the degradation efficiency of different organic pollutants and application cases in actual environments. At the same time, the efficiency and stability of photocatalysts, the bottlenecks of large-scale application and future research directions are discussed. Studies have shown that by optimizing catalyst design, improving visible light utilization and developing efficient reaction systems, photocatalytic technology is expected to be more widely used in environmental governance fields such as wastewater treatment and air purification, providing a sustainable solution to global environmental pollution problems.
