Abstract
Energy storage systems are a key enabler for the efficient use of renewable energy and the stability of energy grids. Recent advancements in energy storage technologies have the potential to revolutionize the way energy is stored and used, improving energy security and reducing carbon emissions. Chemical engineering plays a crucial role in the development and optimization of energy storage systems, including batteries, supercapacitors, and fuel cells. This article reviews recent innovations in energy storage systems from a chemical engineering perspective, focusing on new materials, improved energy efficiency, and the scalability of storage technologies. The paper also discusses the challenges and opportunities in advancing energy storage systems and their role in the future of sustainable energy production and consumption
