Abstract
Chemical engineering plays a critical role in the development and manufacturing of pharmaceutical products. From the synthesis of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) to the design of drug delivery systems, chemical engineers are instrumental in ensuring the scalability, efficiency, and quality of pharmaceutical production. This article explores the contributions of chemical engineering to pharmaceutical development, focusing on process optimization, the development of drug formulations, and the application of advanced technologies in drug manufacturing. The paper also discusses the challenges faced in pharmaceutical development and the role of chemical engineers in addressing them.
