Abstract

Achieving carbon neutrality is a critical objective for addressing climate change and reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Chemical engineering plays a central role in developing strategies and technologies to reduce, capture, and offset carbon emissions in industrial processes. This article explores various chemical engineering approaches to carbon neutrality, including energy-efficient processes, renewable energy integration, carbon capture and storage (CCS), and the development of sustainable biofuels. Additionally, the paper discusses the challenges and opportunities in achieving carbon neutrality in chemical industries and highlights the role of innovation in accelerating this transition.
