Abstract
The integration of Very Large Scale Integration (VLSI) and embedded systems is revolutionizing the domain of Smart Manufacturing (SM). These technologies enable real-time processing, miniaturized hardware, and intelligent automation within Industry 4.0 environments. This paper explores how VLSI and embedded systems contribute to factory digitization, autonomous control, and predictive maintenance. It highlights emerging design paradigms including edge computing, AI integration, and ultra-low-power architecture in smart factories. Future trends indicate a convergence of intelligent embedded hardware with machine learning models to foster flexible and resilient manufacturing ecosystems.
