Abstract
Very Large Scale Integration (VLSI) technology plays a crucial role in enabling high-speed embedded system applications across domains such as aerospace, autonomous vehicles, and real-time signal processing. However, achieving high performance while maintaining low power, area efficiency, and reliability presents numerous design challenges. This paper explores these critical issues including signal integrity, interconnect delay, power distribution, thermal management, and verification complexity. Solutions such as 3D integration, adaptive voltage scaling, and hardware-software co-design are discussed as pathways to overcome bottlenecks in performance-centric embedded VLSI systems.
