Abstract

Carbon nanotubes (CNTs) have emerged as one of the most promising materials for structural engineering due to their unique mechanical, electrical, and thermal properties. These properties enable CNTs to improve the strength, durability, and performance of composite materials used in construction. This paper reviews the various applications of CNTs in structural engineering, focusing on their role in enhancing the mechanical properties of construction materials, particularly in concrete and polymers. Additionally, the challenges associated with incorporating CNTs into construction materials are discussed, including dispersion issues, cost concerns, and long-term sustainability. Through a comprehensive analysis of current research, this paper highlights the future potential of CNTs in advancing structural engineering applications.
