Abstract
The Internet of Things (IoT) is reshaping modern instrumentation and control systems by enabling real-time data acquisition, analysis, and automated decision-making. This article explores the integration of IoT technologies in industrial control frameworks, highlighting their role in enhancing system responsiveness, flexibility, and efficiency. It examines key components including smart sensors, edge computing, and wireless communication protocols that support distributed automation. Case studies in sectors such as manufacturing, energy, and environmental monitoring are discussed to illustrate practical benefits. Finally, the paper analyzes challenges related to cybersecurity, interoperability, and data management, while outlining future trends in AI-enabled and cloud-integrated control environments.
