Abstract
The integration of smart grids and microgrids in mining operations has become increasingly vital as the mining industry transitions toward energy efficiency, sustainability, and autonomy. This study explores how smart grids facilitate real-time energy management, load optimization, and renewable energy integration in remote mining areas. Microgrids provide decentralized, reliable, and resilient power systems that ensure operational continuity even in the absence of central grid connectivity. The paper discusses key components such as demand response systems, energy storage technologies, and predictive analytics for optimizing energy usage. It further highlights the role of smart grid-based digital communication networks, artificial intelligence, and automation in achieving sustainable and cost-effective mining operations.
