Abstract
Advanced energy storage systems (ESS) are pivotal in the efficient operation of modern power grids, particularly with the increasing integration of renewable energy sources. Power electronics (PE) plays a key role in managing the storage, distribution, and conversion of energy in these systems. This paper explores the application of power electronics in advanced energy storage systems, examining their impact on grid stability, efficiency, and reliability. Key power converter technologies, control strategies, and their integration with smart grids are discussed. The paper also highlights the challenges and future trends in this rapidly evolving field.
