Abstract
Antibiotic resistance poses a significant threat to global public health by rendering common bacterial infections increasingly difficult to treat. This challenge demands innovative pharmacological strategies that go beyond conventional antibiotic development. This article reviews emerging pharmacological approaches to combating antibiotic resistance, including the use of novel antibiotics, adjuvant therapies, bacteriophage therapy, and antimicrobial peptides. The paper also addresses the role of antibiotic stewardship and future directions for sustainable resistance management.
