Abstract

The integration of the Internet of Things (IoT) into industrial production engineering is revolutionizing the manufacturing sector. Smart factories enabled by IoT technologies offer enhanced automation, real-time monitoring, predictive maintenance, and data-driven decision-making. This paper explores how IoT contributes to smarter production environments, the architecture and components of such systems, and real-world applications across various industries. Challenges such as cybersecurity, interoperability, and data management are also examined. The study concludes that IoT in smart factories leads to significant productivity gains, cost reductions, and improved sustainability in industrial operations.
