Abstract
In the face of increasing global disruptions—ranging from pandemics to geopolitical tensions—enhancing supply chain resilience has become a strategic imperative. This paper explores the role of advanced production engineering in fortifying supply chains against such uncertainties. Through the integration of smart manufacturing technologies, flexible production systems, and data-driven decision-making, industries can improve adaptability and minimize downtime. The study discusses digital twin integration, predictive analytics, additive manufacturing, and lean-agile hybrid systems as key pillars for building responsive and sustainable supply chains. Empirical insights and case studies underline the effectiveness of these engineering strategies in mitigating vulnerabilities and driving competitive advantage.
