Abstract

Drug resistance is a major global health challenge, particularly in the treatment of infectious diseases and cancer. Bioinformatics has become an essential tool in understanding the genetic and molecular mechanisms underlying drug resistance. By analyzing large-scale genomic data from resistant and susceptible strains, bioinformatics can reveal mutations, gene expression changes, and signaling pathways that contribute to resistance. This article reviews the role of bioinformatics in studying drug resistance mechanisms, focusing on tools and approaches used to identify resistance genes, understand the molecular basis of resistance, and predict therapeutic responses.
