Abstract

Bioinformatics plays a pivotal role in advancing agricultural science by enabling the analysis of large-scale genomic, transcriptomic, and proteomic data to improve crop quality, yield, and resistance to pests and diseases. This article explores the impact of bioinformatics in agriculture, focusing on its applications in crop improvement, including marker-assisted selection, genomic selection, and the use of high-throughput sequencing technologies. We examine the challenges and opportunities in utilizing bioinformatics tools to accelerate crop breeding programs and address global food security concerns.
