Abstract

Gene editing technologies, particularly CRISPR-Cas9, have revolutionized genetic research and therapeutic development by allowing precise modifications to DNA. Bioinformatics approaches play a critical role in optimizing gene editing by predicting target sites, designing guide RNAs, and ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of edits. This article reviews bioinformatics tools and strategies used in CRISPR-based gene editing, focusing on guide RNA design, off-target prediction, and genome-wide analysis. We also discuss the challenges and future directions in bioinformatics for CRISPR applications in research and therapy.
