Abstract

Clinical decision support systems (CDSS) are designed to assist healthcare providers in making informed clinical decisions by integrating patient data, clinical guidelines, and other medical knowledge. Bioinformatics plays a crucial role in the development and enhancement of CDSS by providing tools to analyze genomic, transcriptomic, and clinical data. This article explores the applications of bioinformatics in CDSS, focusing on the integration of genomic data for personalized medicine, predictive analytics for disease diagnosis, and the use of machine learning algorithms to improve clinical decision-making. We also discuss the challenges and future directions in bioinformatics-driven CDSS for improving healthcare outcomes.
