Abstract

The increasing prevalence of antibiotic-resistant bacteria presents a significant global health challenge. Bioinformatics has become a powerful tool in the search for novel antibiotics by enabling the identification of potential drug targets, screening of large compound libraries, and analysis of microbial genomes. This article explores how bioinformatics approaches, including computational drug discovery, genomic sequencing, and machine learning, are being used to identify new antibiotics. We discuss the potential of these technologies to overcome the challenges posed by antibiotic resistance and highlight the role of bioinformatics in accelerating the drug discovery process
